Advanced mode in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz consists of fifty stages across three worlds.

It is comparable to the Expert difficulty in other titles.

World 1: Lava IslandEdit

The first world of Advanced, like that of Normal, builds on the theme of Beginner. This time, the world features a volcanic background.

A-01

Stage 1-1: ΔOΧ☐ Advanced!Edit

15 total bananas; 15 bananas, 0 bunches

This stage features the four Playstation buttons as descending platforms, with the goal sitting on one side of the Δ. The player must control their aerial momentum to land on the subsequent platforms and reach the goal.



A-02

Stage 1-2: Crocodile HunterEdit

9 total bananas; 9 bananas, 0 bunches

In this stage the player must control the tilt of the stage, moving stopper-like crocodile heads to allow passage through the level. The player must also line the ending ramp up with the goal.



A-03

Stage 1-3: Training SeesawEdit

15 total bananas; 15 bananas, 0 bunches (Has Warp Goal)

This level consists of various seesaws. The player can take a relatively short path to the main goal, take a detour to some extra bananas, or, with enough momentum, cross a small, baseless seesaw to reach an upper path to a warp goal.

Stage 1-4: Arched BridgeEdit

8 total bananas; 8 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must traverse four arched bridges, each progressively thinner than the last, to reach the goal. Alternatively, the player can angle into the goal from the start by hitting an elevated ridge opposite the spawn.

Bonus 1-5: Basic Bonus 3Edit

50 total bananas; 50 bananas, 0 bunches

This bonus stage shares the banana layout of Basic Bonus 1 & 2, but every banana (except the distant lone one) has a diamond 1x1 bevel bevel beneath it, making it harder to collect them.



A-06

Stage 1-6: Wide WiperEdit

9 total bananas; 9 bananas, 0 bunch

In this level, the player must traverse several swinging rectangular platforms to reach the goal, each becoming progressively thinner than the last.



A-07

Stage 1-7: Sheer CliffEdit

6 total bananas; 6 bananas, 0 bunches (Has Warp Goal)

In this level, the player must control their momentum as they move along sharp downhill slopes. The player can turn around after the first slope, and fall into a warp goal if they're moving at the right speed.



A-08

Stage 1-8: Trick Half-PipeEdit

19 total bananas; 19 bananas, 0 bunches

In this half-pipe level, obstacles such as aerial jumps, larger gaps, and uphill slopes are introduced. The stage is significantly longer than the Beginner and Normal half-pipe levels, and players will need good control of their momentum to clear the final jump of the stage.

Stage 1-9: Malicious PyramidEdit

In this level, the player must traverse around the sloped triangular faces of a pyramid to reach the goal. The player will need to move between narrow corners to transition between heights.



A-10

Stage 1-10: Dinosaur ParadiseEdit

10 total bananas; 10 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must follow a winding path to a series of pterodactyl-shaped platforms, use them to reach an upper path, and finally roll down the roaring dinosaur figure without being knocked off to reach the goal.


World 2: Foggy TempleEdit

Just like the first world, the second world of Advanced builds on the clay temple of Normal. The world has a green hue, as opposed to a pink one, and a foggy background.

Stage 2-1: Conveyor ArrayEdit

In this level, the player must move between conveyor belts without falling off the stage to reach the goal.



A-12

Stage 2-2: Seesaw ParkEdit

6 total bananas; 6 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must move between tilted seesaws, avoiding pitfalls and bumpers, to reach the goal. The final seesaw barely reaches the goal's height, forcing the player to move quickly.



A-13

Stage 2-3: Risky CoasterEdit

5 total bananas; 5 bananas, 0 bunches (Has Warp Goal)

In this level, the player must preserve their momentum between curved slopes to roll up to the narrow path leading to the goal. Alternatively, the player can gather enough momentum from their starting point to jump to the narrow path behind the goal, and roal back toward the spawn to reach a warp goal.

Stage 2-4: Longest FallEdit

In this level, the player must roll down a slope, avoiding poles and bumpers, to reach the goal in time.



A-15

Bonus 2-5: Stress ToneEdit

50 total bananas; 50 bananas, 0 bunches

This level bears similarity to the bonus from World 2 of Normal, however the platform is smaller, the maze-defining rails on the ground are more prominent, and the walls on the side are much less so. As a result, it's much easier to get knocked off-path and fall out.

Stage 2-6: AnacondaEdit

10 total bananas; 10 bananas, 0 bunch

In this level, the player follows an outwardly-curved path to the goal, avoiding fences and staying as close to the center as possible. The level ends with a jump onto a slanted surface where the goal resides.



A-17

Stage 2-7: Panel BalancerEdit

7 total bananas; 7 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must traverse a series of horizontal seesaw platforms, each longer than the last, trying not to fall off the sides. The final platform has an inconveniently placed bumper on it, forcing the player to make a back-and-forth movement across the platform.

Stage 2-8: Bumper VortexEdit

10 total bananas; 10 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player move between three circular platforms, each with bumpers circling them. They must maintain a reasonable speed to avoid being knocked off the level.



A-19

Stage 2-9: Block GridEdit

8 total bananas; 8 bananas, 0 bunches

This level consists of nine square platforms, with either raised or lowered square centers. The player can choose either to move from platform to platform by the central area, or by carefully rolling around the edges. At the end, the player must muster enough diagonal momentum to reach the goal.

Stage 2-10: GandharaEdit

7 total bananas; 7 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the punching monkeys return. The player must avoid being knocked over as they move around an outer path of the level. Two tilted platforms on this path are forced upward in time with one monkey's punches, requiring careful navigation to pass. The player must also use the momentum from one of the punching monkeys to roll up a steep slope.


World 3: Block TownEdit

The third world of Advanced builds on Normal's third world with a snow theme added to the blocks. Scenery consists ofsnow-covered trees and buildings.

Stage 3-1: Hop StepEdit

21 total bananas; 11 bananas, 1 bunch

In this level, the player must make use of momentum and ledge jumps to reach the goal. One of the hardest jumps in the level involves a diagonally-placed square platform ledge, requiring quick recovery from the player to land properly.

Stage 3-2: Melody LineEdit

7 total bananas; 7 bananas, 0 bunches

This level resembles a keyboard, which the player must move along. Each key moves up and down at a varying speed. The player must time their movement carefully to land on platforms at the right point. The final set of platforms features black keys that move when tilted.

Stage 3-3: Building BlocksEdit

5 total bananas; 5 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must navigate a series of small moving platforms to reach the goal. The final platform is half-width and upward-sloped. Careful control of momentum and direction is key here.

Stage 3-4: Labyrinth BarEdit

In this level, the player must navigate a bottom layer of stoppers to reach a ramp to the upper level, where again, they must use the stoppers to make a bridge to the goal.

Bonus 3-5: Wonder WheelEdit

This bonus stage strongly resembles that of World 3, Normal, however here, the two disks move up and down in rhythm.

Stage 3-6: High-Stress SpeedEdit

In this level, the player must speedily move through a long, reasonably thin path, to reach the goal before the time runs out.

Stage 3-7: Quick RiverEdit

7 total bananas; 7 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must traverse multiple obstacle-filled conveyor platforms to reach the goal.



A-28

Stage 3-8: Bubble Ball FloatEdit

13 total bananas; 3 bananas, 1 bunch (Has Warp Goal)

This level bears visual similarity to Bubble Ball from Normal, however, there are significantly less spheres to use - making falling out of bounds a very real risk - and some spheres also move up and down. There is a warp goal located under the level, which can be reached from the top-left area of the stage.

Stage 3-9: Bumper StreetEdit

In this level, the player must follow a bumper-filled path to reach the goal, consisting of rotating ring platforms, large rotating drums, and angled half-pipes.

Stage 3-10: Window Mill ClimbEdit

8 total bananas; 8 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must follow a lower path around the level, avoiding the blades of a large windmill, before using the windmill from an upper point to reach the path to the goal. The player must time their final dash carefully to avoid hitting the blades of two concurrent windmills.


World 4: Cardboard WestEdit

The fourth world of Advanced is set in the Wild West, and makes great use of cardboard for scenery. Levels in this world take a sharp turn upward in difficulty from the previous worlds.

Stage 4-1: Western RoadEdit

21 total bananas; 11 bananas, 1 bunch

In this level, the player must traverse a long winding road to reach the goal. This level employs diagonal movement, and curved tightropes.

Stage 4-2: HoneycombEdit

10 total bananas; 10 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must traverse a series of narrow, sloped, square-cornered paths, to reach a goal in the top-left of the stage.

Stage 4-3: One-Ace SwingEdit

14 total bananas; 4 bananas, 1 bunch (Has Warp Goal)

In this level, a series of rectangular platforms, each longer than the last, move in time from left to right. Small individual stationary platforms bridge the gaps at each arc between the swinging platforms. The player can either take a standard path to the normal goal on the right, or carefully preserve momentum to survive the movement to the warp goal on the left.

Stage 4-4: TornadoEdit

In this level, the player must follow an angled spiralling path downward, dodging bumpers and landing small jumps, to reach the goal.

Bonus 4-5: Big CactusEdit

50 total bananas; 50 bananas, 0 bunches

In this bonus stage, bananas are strewn in doubled paths along the arms and body of a large cactus. The shape of the arms and body of the stage are in that of an outward half-pipe, so the player must stay as close to the center as possible to avoid falling off.

Stage 4-6: Chicken HelicopterEdit

In this level, the player must traverse two narrow tilted rectangular platforms, swinging left and right, to reach the goal.

Stage 4-7: Bumper BaseEdit

6 total bananas; 6 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must move quickly along square-cornered narrow paths shared by a series of bumpers to reach the goal without being knocked off.

Stage 4-8: Sand PileEdit

12 total bananas; 2 bananas, 1 bunch

In this level, a series of vertically curved rectangular platforms, each at right angles to one-another, lead to the goal (and an optional risky banana-bunch). The player must carefully transfer their momentum from platform to platform to reach the goal without rolling off the tilted ends.

Stage 4-9: Loop-de-LoopEdit

7 total bananas; 7 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must zig-zag between angled platforms, use slopes to reduce their speed, and traverse tightropes to reach the goal.

Stage 4-10: Frontier SpiritEdit

17 total bananas; 7 bananas, 1 bunch

In this level, two cardboard trains move at semicircular intervals around a circular track. The player must carefully move between safe zones on the lower level, avoiding the trains, to reach a path to the upper level. They must then ride the top of the train to reach a path to the goal.


World 5: Space WarsEdit

The fifth and final world of Advanced is set in an 8-bit-esque rendition of space. Sound effects are complemented by electronic beeps, and the background graphics resemble Space Invaders.

Stage 5-1: UFOEdit

10 total bananas; 10 bananas, 0 bunches (Has Warp Goal)

In this level, the player must move between a series of five increasingly steep outward-facing disks to reach the goal at the end. A warp goal sits beneath one of the disks, and can be reached with enough opposing speed.

Stage 5-2: Colony QuarterEdit

8 total bananas; 8 bananas, 0 bunches

A much easier level than the one preceeding or following it, in this stage the player must move up a series of ridged platforms and follow a shifting outer path to the goal.

Stage 5-3: FactoryEdit

10 total bananas; 10 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must move against the current of a series of conveyor belts to reach the goal, each more hazardous than the last. The first conveyor belt has bananas on it. The second has a series of solid boxes. The third has multiple bumpers.

Stage 5-4: Danger BoardEdit

6 total bananas; 6 bananas, 0 bunches

For this level, the player must carefully and quickly move through a series of long, tilting platforms to reach the goal. The path to the end is arched and requires careful movement to avoid falling off of.



45

Bonus 5-5: Monkey CubeEdit

50 total bananas; 50 bananas, 0 bunches

Perhaps the hardest bonus stage in the game, this level features platforms of individual colours moving up and down out of time, and bananas strewn in an inconvenient pattern across them. Players will be lucky to collect all 50 within the time-limit.

Stage 5-6: Heavy BlocksEdit

8 total bananas; 8 bananas, 0 bunch

In this level, the player must move between moving square blocks to reach the goal. The first set of blocks have ball-sized holes in the center, which the player can fall through. The second set feature a checkerboard pattern of bumpers and bevels.

Stage 5-7: Satellite BurstEdit

12 total bananas; 12 bananas, 0 bunches

For this level, the player must move along an unusually-sloped path to reach the goal. It's hard to gauge what parts of the path are upright, and falling off is a very real risk. As a result, the level looks significantly easier than it is.

Stage 5-8: Dot BitEdit

In this level, the player must traverse a series of small narrow platforms in a straight fashion to reach the goal. The level shifts from small jumps to diagonal movement, so the player must find the perfect balance of fast and slow speed at the start to avoid falling off.

Stage 5-9: Asteroid BornEdit

In this level, a series of alternately sloped platforms weave a path to the goal. The player must keep their speed as they move between left and right sloped platforms to avoid falling off. The platforms halve in width multiple times through the level, making the path to the goal incredibly difficult to navigate.


50

Stage 5-10: MothershipEdit

3 total bananas; 3 bananas, 0 bunches

In this level, the player must navigate the lower level of a spaceship - consisting of tilting bridges, timed gates, narrow and angled paths, and stopper-like turrets - to reach an elevator to the upper level. Here, they must work against a conveyor belt with multiple more stoppers on it to reach the path to the goal.
